Järn-Brita’s Koja is a unique place to stay – a work of art and a space to unwind. Set in the English Park at Axmar Bruk, about 50 minutes north of Gävle, the cabin is surrounded by leafy trees and beautiful waterways. With its playful design and the feeling of being high up in a tree canopy, it’s a small cabin with a big sense of place.

The cabin is named after Järn-Brita Behm, the estate’s matriarch for nearly 60 years. Her presence lives on in the history of the site, adding another layer to your stay – here, you don’t just stay somewhere unique, but somewhere deeply connected to Axmar Bruk’s past.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a glasshouse with comfortable beds, a table and chairs, creating a cosy setting. In the evening, the iron stove spreads warmth and adds to the calm, snug atmosphere. During spring and autumn evenings, the cabin glows softly with light – a place where life slows down, just as it often should.

In the morning, a breakfast basket is delivered to you, with freshly brewed coffee made from freshly ground beans or tea, homemade bread, eggs, yoghurt, cereals and seasonal berries, along with other treats. A perfect start to the day.

Around the cabin, there are plenty of ways to explore more of Axmar Bruk. There’s a small bathing area, a cosy café and guided tours for those who want to discover the full history of the estate. For the more active, there are walking trails with barbecue spots, as well as the option to rent a kayak.

For a romantic getaway for two, the cabin offers a special setting. If you’re planning a simple wedding in the beautiful park, there’s also a gazebo close to the cabin.
